Canditech’s Embedded ChatGPT and Google Search tools allow you to evaluate how candidates approach real-world challenges by giving them access to AI and search tools, directly within the assessment. These features offer insight into candidates’ research and problem-solving processes, with all interactions recorded for review.

Embedded ChatGPT

Embedded ChatGPT allows candidates to use ChatGPT directly within the assessment, without leaving the test page. This feature is designed to help you evaluate not only candidates’ final answers but also how they approach solving problems with AI assistance, a skill that is increasingly important in many roles.

When enabled:

  • Candidates can open and use ChatGPT inside the assessment interface.

  • All their prompts and ChatGPT’s responses are recorded and included in the candidate’s result page.

  • Users can review these transcripts to better understand candidates’ research methods, critical thinking, and prompt-crafting ability.

Note: Embedded ChatGPT is available on Enterprise plans. If you're interested in enabling it for your account, please contact our team.

Example use cases:

  • Evaluating how candidates solve open-ended questions with AI help

  • Assessing their ability to prompt ChatGPT effectively

  • Mimicking real-world work environments where AI tools are used freely

Embedded Google Search

Embedded Google Search allows candidates to perform real-time Google searches directly within the assessment. This helps you see how they research, validate information, and solve problems in a realistic work scenario.

When enabled:

  • Candidates see an embedded Google Search bar in the assessment.

  • All search queries and clicked links are automatically recorded.

  • Users can review this activity in the candidate’s result page to understand their research strategy and reasoning process.

Note: Embedded Google Search is available on Enterprise plans. If you're interested in enabling it for your account, please contact our team.

Example use cases:

  • Assessing candidates’ ability to quickly find and verify information

  • Evaluating research skills for technical or analytical roles

  • Mimicking work environments where online resources are essential

How to Enable

If your plan includes these features, you can enable them in the Advanced Features tab of the assessment. Simply toggle on the relevant option (Embedded ChatGPT or Embedded Google Search) before sending the invitation.

Candidate Experience During Assessments

When these features are enabled, candidates see a clear, dedicated interface inside the assessment for either ChatGPT or Google Search.

Embedded ChatGPT: Candidates have access to an integrated ChatGPT panel that they can open and use to generate responses. Before starting an assessment, they are informed that their prompts and ChatGPT’s responses will be recorded and shared with the hiring team.

Embedded Google Search: Candidates see a Google Search bar embedded directly in the assessment. Before starting an assessment, they are notified that their searches and clicked links will be recorded for review.

Reviewing Candidate Search Insights

If Embedded ChatGPT or Google Search was enabled for the assessment, you'll see a Candidate Search Insights section in the candidate’s results page. This includes a full record of their activity using the embedded tools.

ChatGPT Insights

In this section, you can view the exact prompts the candidate submitted to ChatGPT, along with the responses generated by the AI.

Google Search Insights

This section shows a detailed log of the candidate’s search activity during the assessment. For each search, you’ll see the section of the assessment where the search took place, how long into the assessment the candidate opened the search bar, the exact search term they entered, and how long they used the search feature.
